In Nusa Penida, you will mainly snorkel in crystal clear bays that are sheltered from the famous Nusa Penida currents. In addition, the snorkeling here is a gentle drift over a fantastic plateau of coral reef home to great diversity marine life and the always friendly turtle.

Moreover, the snorkeling in Nusa Lembongan will be done at Mangrove Point. This place has amazing coral and a rich density in reef fish. You will experience two route options during your tour:

1. Crystal Bay, Gamat Bay, Mangrove Point
2. Manta Bay, Crystal Bay or Gamat Bay, Mangrove Point

The south coast of Nusa Penida is well known for its breathtaking landscapes and wild white beaches. You will get a rare opportunity to snorkel and swim with Manta rays! Few places in the world will offer you such consistent sightings. Additionally, there is no set season for seeing them in our Marine Park Area.

These majestic creatures measure a maximum of 5 meters wide. However, Oceanic Manta ray can grow up to 8.8 meters wide. The Reef Manta ray is what you will usually see in our waters. Contrary to popular belief, they are actually harmless. They do not possess a stinger, as they are often confused for stingrays. Also, their food source consists of the microscopic plankton, krill, and jellyfish.

  • Be careful with your entry. Try to stay no closer than 10 meters (33 feet) apart
  • Do not splash the water
  • Should the manta ray approach you, don’t panic, hold your position and observe only, refrain from touching!
  • Don’t approach a Manta from the side or block its path
  • Do not pursue or startle them or cause them to feel intimidated.
